Many considerations come into play when Developers Diversified researches an opportunity to develop a shopping center - rural or urban - but the pivotal factor is whether the property can accommodate a shopping center that matches the community's needs.
Size and Market Conditions
Community Centers
From 100,000 square feet to over 850,000 square feet of GLA in size, these expansive developments require a minimum of 30 to a maximum of 100 acres and thrive in markets with at least 150,000 people and an average household income of $65,000 or more within five miles.
Lifestyle Centers
Our growing portfolio of lifestyle centers, among the nation's most successful, typically range between 100,000 and 800,000 square feet. Demographic criteria for lifestyle developments begin with a primary trade area of 150,000 people and an average household income of $85,000 or more within five miles.
Multi-Use and Urban Developments
